For the second year in a row, a large number of students have gone to mosques with their parents to sign up for the Quranic courses, officials said.

The Quran memorization courses have been the most popular among eh students, they said, according to Al-Watan daily.

The Quranic programs will be held twice a day in mosques across Egypt during the summer holidays.

They are organized by the country’s Awqaf ministry, which has designed and implemented many Quranic programs for children and teenagers in recent years.

Meanwhile, many children in villages and rural areas learn the Quran at Maktabs (traditional Quran schools).
